As the current PTK President, working on the PTK Induction Ceremony was an incredibly enriching experience! Working with Patricia Hernandez, the current VP of Scholarship, Bara Zalloum, the current VP of Membership, Wendy Rubio, the current VP of Service, VP of Leadership, Athena Johnson, VP of Community Development, Adolfo Segovia, and the PTK Honorary Members, Daniela Otarola and Daniela Navarrete was a wonderful experience with each person making it possible following Katie Ordinario’s, the Director of Student Activities, and Mary Kincaid’s, the Student Activities Coordinator guidelines! The process was long and remarkably formal but was executed well, and the theater, later, the atrium was filled with many students and their parents. While there were some mistakes during the induction with all the expectations and pressure, the fact it was in person during COVID with so much participation and care cannot be understated. I am sincerely thankful to all the inducted PTK members who accepted their awards and become enlightened about what PTK means and stands for! They should hope to bring lasting change and make PTK a better organization to leave an impact and leave their mark on campus, no matter how big or small. They should all be proud of their accomplishments, as it is challenging to maintain a high GPA, not to mention how much harder it has been for some during COVID and its effects on their families and such!
