Wright students have different resources available to them, and with the holiday season upon us, resources such as the food pantry can be especially important.
“This is usually the busiest time for us.” Says Romell Murden-Woldu dean of student services at Wright in regard to the school's food pantry.
This resource is available to members of the Wright community, Murden-Woldu says “Faculty staff, and students, it can also be residents of the community who live close to Wright as well.”
In order to receive access to the food pantry, an intake form needs to be filled out. The form will ask for basic information such as name, household, and income information. This information is collected and sent to the Greater Chicago Food Depository, which, based on the usage of the food pantry located on campus, the depository will send food to Wright in corresponding amounts.
The pantry is open Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Thursdays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. but closed on holidays and during breaks in the school year.
Although this resource is not available on campus year-round, after completion of the intake form clients are given a Greater Chicago food depository card. This card can be used throughout Cook County and is not only specific to the Chicagoland area.
