Join Dunning-Read Natural Area for a Clean-Up!

By: Aaliyah Sanchez

The Dunning-Read Natural Area is a park located in the Dunning neighborhood west of the Wilbur Wright College Campus. The area is under the management of the Chicago Park District.

Every third Saturday of each month, the park advisory council gathers for a volunteer workday from 9 am to 12 pm. The next volunteer workday is this upcoming Saturday the 21st.

You can access the nature area through the Chicago Read Mental Health Center entrance on Oak Park. You can follow the signs leading to Lot C.

The average volunteer workday includes litter cleanup, removing invasive plants, native planting, and beautification.

On some Saturdays, they offer nature-based activities, including this Saturday the 21st  starting at 7:30 am, they are hosting a bird walk.

To RSVP you can email the Lead Steward Jeff Daube at corvus006@hotmail.com.
