The Wright Side, Wright College’s annual literary magazine, unveiled its 2023 issue Sept. 23 with a series of readings, screenings, and an impromptu open mic.
A small crowd gathered in the Events Building theatre for the launch of the magazine, which contains poems, short stories, drawings, paintings, photographs and information about short films contributors have developed.
The 2023 Editor-in-Chief, Lydia Schoessling, provided a warm welcome for people arriving at the event, which also featured displays of paintings from Nathan Madden, who said the subject matter was deliberately left open for interpretation, and drawings from Rosie Lazaro depicting metaphorical commentaries about depression.

In the auditorium, both 2022 Editor-in-Chief, Raine Yung and alum Billy Tucker screened short films, after which Schoessling read a poem and then invited attendees to contribute to the festivities via an open mic.
Copies of the magazine are available around campus or by contacting The Wright Side staff.

The Wright Side will host an open mic Nov. 16 at 3pm in the Events Building, which will feature music from members of the school’s Music Club.
