Wright Times had the pleasure of speaking with Volleyball Club President Adrian Quijano and asking a few questions about the club.
Specs:
The club meets Monday and Wednesday from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm.
Why did you join the club?
"Everyone is friendly and you build a sense of community. Started as Vice President in 2021, was a freshman coming from high school, so I didn’t want too much pressure so soon. I was a little on the introverted side and the club brought me out of that."
What’s your favorite part about the club?
"It’s a set time for people who love the sport and to be a stress reliever, especially around midterms. Volleyball helps to build up that excitement."

Qualities from the club that students takeaway to class?
"Volleyball helps to build self-esteem, grow in confidence in speaking, communicating with others who do not necessarily know the rules, time management skills, and the essence of having fun."
From our talk and hanging out a bit more after, Wright Times was really able to see the joy in everyone playing. The teamwork, the support, and when someone made a mistake there was compassion in the error.
If you are interested in joining or just taking a look at the Volleyball Club, head to the gym on either Monday or Wednesday 2:30pm - 4:30pm.
