The Wright Times interviewed six different students on campus to determine what our peers did for leisure in our time of relaxation. From baking to gaming; young adults escaped the cold into comfort and fun.
Maurico Morquecho, a 22-year-old Wright student, said he connected with family as he vacationed in Wisconsin. He recalled enjoying adventuring around and eating the local food. He was able to spend more time with his father and younger sister, enjoying their company in another part of the midwest.
Chris Brodka, a 21-year-old sophomore, spent his winter break at the gym and working at Oak Mill Bakery as a delivery driver. He has an interest in the creative lengths baking can go, and the creations he’s seen go beyond his expectations. In addition, he spent time connecting with his nieces and nephews.
Adlyn Gaemas, an 18-year-old student, spent time with her family over break. She unwinded by baking treats such as chocolate chip cookies, brownies and cupcakes. In addition, Gaemas watched the TV show Ginny and Georgia which she rated a “7 out of 10.”
Tate Thompson, a 22-year-old sophomore, watched the entirety of The Sopranos in his leisure. They described it as “nerve-racking” but overall enjoyable despite its 2000s approach at times and the disappointing ending. He also spent time with his puppy, Avery, and took her to the woods when they weren’t sheltering from the polar vortex.
Mila Cedano, a 19-year-old student, went on her annual family trip to Miami. She spent a lot of time at the beach with family, along with partying in the warm Florida atmosphere. As a token of her adventures, she brought home some lovely bracelets.
Bell Hernandez, an 18-year-old student, continued her mission with their friend Austin Lino to recreate Minecraft’s original demo. They’ve worked on numerous crafts and projects together, their current one running for a month now. They also spent some time at Round One, an arcade where they played a lot of “Pump it Up.”
