Feb. 20 and 21 Wilbur Wright’s School of Engineering is hosting Engineering Week to help connect students, highlight the engineering field, and facilitate fun and informative events for students.
“Engineering Week is a national celebration, recognized by colleges, universities, and industry, to advocate for the engineering profession” says Bridget O’Connel, Associate Dean of the Center of Excellence in Engineering and Computer Science.
Every engineering club at Wrights campus is holding an event. There will be games and competitions; notably, an escape room, building “secret” machines, and a robotics competition.
Wilbur Wright’s partner school, the University of Illinois Urbana Champagne is holding an informational session about transfer options.

This week is filled with events for the Engineering program and clubs around campus.
The American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Engineers from Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago and Gewalt Hamilton Associates, Inc. are getting involved, doing presentations and a Q&A about working in specific engineering fields.
Dr. Espiritu, Senior Advisor to Provost and Dean of the Center of Excellence in Engineering and Computer Science states that, “it’s a two way world, to elevate and prepare students, while also affirming Wright’s place nationally in college engineering programs.”
All engineering students are welcome to come join the intellectual and collaborative fun to build community and learn about career and internship opportunities.
