Wright College Reactions to the March Madness Final Four

By: Anthony Tirado

As the excitement from the Elite Eight settles down, the 2025 March Madness Final Four is set with Duke, Houston, Auburn, and Florida.

For the first time since 2008 (last time being Kansas, UCLA, Memphis and North Carolina) we got a final four that includes all first seeds from their respective conference.

There are approximately 60 to 100 million brackets done each March Madness. This year, 283,354 brackets picked the final four correctly.

Physical Education major Luis Neris said, “When you do brackets for March Madness, you don’t expect all first-seed teams to make it.”

Originally, Neris had Auburn vs. St. John and Purdue vs. Duke, saying, “I only had Auburn and Duke who were correct and that’s it”.

Neris believes Duke and Florida will win in the Final 4. One thing most of these brackets have in common is Duke winning the National Championship.

“He’s Him.  He’s a generational talent,” said Joshua Burrows, an Electrical Engineering major. Referring to Cooper Flagg has been taking over college basketball.

Recently, he has been named the AP player of the year in men’s college basketball. He is the fourth freshman to earn that honor behind Duke Zion Williamson (2019), Kentucky’s Anthony Davis (2012), and Kevin Durant (2007).

Burrows stated he hopes Duke will beat Houston and face Auburn in the championship game.

Johni Broome, who is the #2 player in college basketball, has been tearing the competition apart recently, playing Michigan State in the Elite Eight, dropping 25 points, 14 Rebounds, and 2 assists.

Jonathan Skinner, an accounting major says, “I got Auburn and Duke winning because Florida doesn't got anyone who is going to guard Johnni Broome and Houston doesn’t have anyone who is going to guard Flagg.”

With top-tier talent on display, fans are gearing up for a heavyweight Final Four. March Madness 2025 is a battle of the best, and the crown is still for the taking, so who would it be?
