Have you ever thought of setting a new goal but lost track of it and gave up before you could invest in one? What if you set one for the New Year for a fresh start?

The key is to set a goal stick to one, and push through all the distractions. Life is tricky but it’s the little things you can do to successfully manage your time. Even if it is only for a few minutes!

For example, you set a goal to write a book or to work out every day and only manage it for a few days, because you feel tired. Mark your streak on a calendar to motivate you, if you don’t have ideas or are extremely tired, write for at least 30 minutes or even a few sentences but never break that streak!

Consistency is key, begin your activity every day, at the same time to ensure you continue it over a long period of time.

Avoid skipping two-day pauses, it makes it very easy to stop the entire goal and it will probably take some time before you get into it again. And last but not least remember to appreciate and reward yourself!

After a consistent week of completing your resolution, buy yourself a small gift or something sweet. The rewards always taste better once they are well deserved.

Wilbur Wright College students have voiced how they are maintaining their New Year's resolutions. Engineering Student Martin Madrigal, says he strives, “ To become healthier and stay fit, overcome boredom, educate myself and be productive”.

Sophomore Heather Sotomayor, majoring in Sports Psychology/ Biomedical Engineering, says her new year's resolution is, “To have good grades, plan to transfer, get out of my comfort zone but also enjoy life, go to concerts, and be in the moment”.

“To deal with insecurities and be happy with yourself. To embrace being short but would like to achieve one inch at least. It gets annoying when people remind you that you’re short.” Mario Hernandez a Wright College Student expressed.

Many students have resolutions or issues they are pursuing to solve, no matter the challenge. The source of human growth and beautiful journeys lead to better destinations.
