After splitting the Northern Iowa Classic, the Lady Rams unfortunately lost the first game of the season against Prairie State College on Nov 5. The staggering loss concluded 93-32 for the Pioneers’ win.
Coach Zaporia Smith says “We did not win the boards and did not take care of the ball, which led to this outcome. We plan to overcome our mistakes and prepare for the next game. The team played as hard as they could.”
The Classic took place on Nov 1-2 where the Lady Rams played one game each day. While they didn’t win their set against North Iowa Area Community College and Ellsworth Community College, these games do not carry weight within Conference standing.

These games offer no effect on standing, Smith stated in a pre-season interview, “It will be counted as what we do when we go out there.”
Two Lady Rams skills stood out in the Classic. Freshman captain, Jasemin Wilson, led with 8 points per game and 5 rebound points per game. Freshman center, Lydianis Boutureira, led rebounds with 6 points per game.
Lady Rams will travel to Oakton College for thier next game on Nov.12. Our first home game is on Nov 19 against Highland College at 5pm in Wilbur Wright’s gym. Both Wright and Daley are to acquire their first wins and the final outcome will push only one ahead in the Conference.
